Morgan’s recent novel, In Between, is about a married couple who has survived years of homelessness and addiction—until a drug deal brings an estranged sister back into the couple's lives, forcing the three family members to confront the limits, as well as the abundance, of love.

“I wrote this novel because I have a brother who has been unhoused for many years, and I wanted to figure out how two people from the same background could end up in such wildly different places. The novel is only loosely based on facts, but has an emotional core that is true. In the process of writing it, I conducted on-street research, interviewed experts and read extensively. The experience has humbled me.”
